We have now started on the America part of our around the world trip. A family full of excitement went onboard a huge American Airline jumbo jet for travelling over there. Since we do this once in a lifetime we have chosen business class for a convenient and comfortable travel. We then avoid a lot of hassle by less mess and less queues, better service etc. The travel itself turns then into an extiting experience and not only transport legs. The price difference is not bad taken into consideration savings on food , drinks, ( in lounges and in the air) and "fast track" against new travel destinations. The "One World" alliance and their employees really takes care of us. On top of all this, the family father has got enough space for his long legs.
Our kids really enjoys the entertainment systems on board with movies, soundtracks and chairs possible to adjust in 17 different positions including bed position. The trip to New York went fast, and it was a pity to sleep with all this luxury
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 3 nights just in the middle of all excitement New York could offer like Empire State Building, Broadway, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Central Park, Trump Building, Rockefeller Centre, and a short taxi drive from the harbour for river cruise to see the Liberty statue, Hudson river, East river, the Finance District and more
We almost danced around the Manhattan all Friday, just collecting sounds and sights all day long, and finally after meeting some IBM colleagues from Norway in the afternoon, we saw Mary Poppins on a Broadway theatre.
Saturday in sunshine and 6-7 degrees Celsius (44 Fahrenheit) we started off the day by doing New York from the top of the world, from the top of the Empire State Building, wow…. what a huge city and nice sights…
We then took a boat cruise to see it all from the Hudson river, the East river as well as a close look at the Liberty Statue. Later we had lunch at a restaurant in Fifth Avenue, a short walk by the central park, finishing of with a great dinner later at the hotel in the evening
Today, as we write, we travels on a jumbo to San Francisco for more travel experiences lined up.
